Privacy Policy

How TeraDownloader handles the links you paste and share passwords, what TeraBox receives when you download, and what is never collected.

Who we are

TeraDownloader is an independent tool, not affiliated with TeraBox or Flextech Inc. This policy covers the website at https://teradownloader.dev and the service it provides. Privacy questions go to hello@teradownloader.dev.

What we collect

The share link you submit. It is used to show you the files in that share — names, sizes, folders and preview images. That information is held temporarily, for a few minutes, so that opening the same share again or saving several files from it is quick. It is never written to a database or to disk.

A share password, if you enter one. It is used once, to unlock the share, and then discarded. It is not stored, not logged, and not added to the page address, so it cannot end up in your browser history or in a link you pass on. Once a share is unlocked, its files stay available to save and play for a few minutes without asking again. The password is not yours in any case: it is a code the sharer set and sent along with the link.

Request information. Like any website, we receive your IP address, basic browser information, the time, and the address requested. Your IP address is used to apply per-address rate limits and to prevent abuse. When you save a file, your browser information is shared with TeraBox so that the download works in your browser. We do not build profiles from any of this, and we do not sell or share it.

Your download and play links. The links behind the Download and Play now buttons are made for you: they work only from your network and expire after a few hours. Page addresses on this site carry no share or file details, so nothing about what you opened ends up in an address you might pass on.

What we do not collect

  • No account, email address or password of yours — there is nothing to sign up for.
  • No TeraBox login of yours. You are never asked for one.
  • No copies of files. Nothing you download or play is saved on our side.
  • No download or viewing history tied to you.
  • No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no third-party pixels.
  • No clipboard contents. The Paste button reads your clipboard in your browser, only when you press it, and the value is sent only if you then run a lookup.

What TeraBox receives

  • When you save a file: the file is delivered directly by TeraBox's servers, so TeraBox receives your IP address and browser information for that download, as it would for a download from its own website. It is not told which page you came from. If you are signed in to TeraBox in the same browser, your browser may also send TeraBox its own cookies, as it would on TeraBox's site.
  • When you look up a share or play a video: TeraBox does not receive your IP address from us.
  • Preview images: thumbnails in the file list and the player's poster image load directly from TeraBox's image servers, without telling them which page you are on. Blocking images for this site does not affect downloads or playback.

TeraBox handles what it receives under its own privacy policy, which is between you and TeraBox.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies. Your light or dark theme preference is kept in your browser's localStorage. For the open tab only, sessionStorage keeps the last share link you looked up — without any password — and the links, name, size and preview image of the video you opened, so going back or reloading the page works. None of this ever leaves your device, and the tab's copy is cleared when you close it.

Who else is involved

  • Our hosting providers run the website and the service on our behalf, and process the requests described above only to do that. They keep standard access logs — IP address, time, page requested — for security and abuse investigation.
  • TeraBox (Flextech Inc.) hosts the files themselves, as described above.

Nobody else receives anything from this site. There are no ad or analytics partners.

How long things are kept

  • Share file lists: a few minutes, in temporary memory only.
  • Download and play links: work for a few hours, from your network only, then expire. Nothing is stored to back them.
  • Share passwords: never kept.
  • Files: never kept.
  • Rate-limit counters: a minute at a time, in temporary memory only.
  • Logs: technical error logs record what went wrong, not who asked — they do not include your IP address or the link you pasted — and are deleted after a limited period. Hosting providers' access logs are kept for their standard period.

We process the link you submit, any share password, and the request information above because you asked for a lookup, download or playback and these are needed to provide it. Your IP address is used for rate limiting on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and free from abuse. TeraBox, which delivers the files you save, processes data under its own terms.

You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to its use, and you can complain to your data protection authority. In practice almost everything above is gone within minutes and none of it is filed under your name, so there is usually nothing left to hand over or delete — but write to us and we will check.

Your rights, everywhere

Because we hold no accounts, there is generally nothing to export or delete on request. If you believe a specific piece of information about you is held here, contact us and we will investigate and remove it where it exists.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the change is described here. The October 2026 update makes clear that files you save are delivered directly by TeraBox. If advertising, analytics or anything else that collects data is ever added, this page will say so before it appears.
